I was searching for Linux games and found information about new game with modern graphics and interesting game-play. I don't remember where exactly I found this information, but certainly Google helped me.

I just went to the unigine website some day and tried to find out how to get the unigine engine as a trial or something for free.
Then i saw under the section "products" oilrush.
I never heard anything before about the game so i was interested.

Read a short article about Oil Rush on Rock, Paper, Shotgun which made me look a bit closer at the game and buy it, I had seen it before that though, but I can't remember exactly where.

I was on YouTube searching for new PC Strategy games. A gameplay video of this came up and I was hooked as soon as I watched it.

I first saw it as a random reference by someone on [H] forums. I looked around, but didn't buy. After taking a look today, I decided to go check out the videos, and I was hooked like the above user :D

I hope it will also come to the xbox360 in due time (well, I haven't played it yet, but I'm a sucker for (sea/star)ship naval combat games, so I'll love it reguardless :p), I'll likely buy it again in that case.

The only reason I hope it ends up on steam, has to do with download speeds. I'm also fine with Impulse, GFWL, Origin, or whoever else you can find that has a beefy pipeline.

Thank you!

I saw the teaser what felt like ages ago, then didn't hear anything about it so I looked what happened, saw it's available for preorder and that's how I got here :)

Yep, same for me. I was very happy to see a new "proper" game for Linux, so I just had to buy it.

I was looking for information about running Strarcraft 2 on linux and somewhere a link to linux version of Unigine Heaven popped out. I tried it and my jaw dropped on floor, so here I am.

I just started using Desura a couple of weeks ago, and last week Oil Rush was on the front page (the scrolling banner) for a while. I clicked, I watched videos, I had to have it! :D

Tals and I go back quite a while, and I have to say, Oil Rush is by far the easiest game I've ever convinced him to buy. :)

I found out about OilRush via /r/linux_gaming on Reddit a few months ago, but only recently took the plunge and bought it as I wanted to watch how things progressed.

In retrospect, I should have bought it sooner.

I found out about OilRush when I search about Good Linux Games. And to be honest, WOW... I'm impressed with the graphic quality and I preordered it just now.

German videogame magazine/website gamestar.de posted videos of Oil Rush. Since I was looking for a RTS with good naval combat sice Age of Empires 2 (Note: I don't like the Red Alert Series, so they don't count to me), I kept myself informed about Oil Rush. Joined the beta just yesterday and it turned out quiet a bit different than I expected, but still seems like a very fun game.
