I do not have any Iphone or Ipad, but the X-Plane project manager (a flight simulation) writes he earns a lot of money by selling the Iphone version of his softwarecan you hope an very very low oil rush on iPad 2....

All the gaming companies were using Direct3D, because it was what Microsoft was declaring as the the standard for them… But only for Windows! OpenGL was the graphics engine that Apple was using. And linux. And SGI. And it could work on Windows, even though Mircosoft did not include the latest OpenGL drivers with Windows when they sold it! So, almost all the Windows developers bet on Direct3D. I bet on OpenGL, and used that. As a result, here we are, 15 years later, and the people that use Direct3D can support Windows only. But, with OpenGL, I support Windows, Mac, Linux, Palm OS, Google Android OS, and oh yes: iPhone and iPodOS which are also OpenGL. So having X-Plane in OpenGL let me move over to iPod and iPhone very quickly. The port was done in 2 weeks, to be very exact. And you saw that i have moved 500,000 units on the iPhone and iPod since. I get $7 from each of those sales, and have moved 500,000 units in the last year and a half, so get out your calculator, do some math, and see if i made the right choice to bet against Microsoft 15 years ago.
It is not my business but it can be a good deal for the developers ^^

Native code can be run on Android, but it requires a set of weird wrappers.Oh, this sounds bad :-/
What is the most horrible thing with android?
(btw. I'm always wondering how it is possible to port a game to android when android only supports applications written in java?!?)

Ah, ok thx for the information :-)
(breaking a principle/using wrappers is always weird :-/)
But I'm looking forward to seeing OilRush on Android devices :-)
I would more like to see OilRush on ARM devices.
I don't like Android because of its restrictions and I don't like to program in Java ... but it is just an operating system on ARM just like the IPad has ARM inside and some Apple-stuff on it.
But there is e.g. this neat piece of hardware: http://www.hercules....e-ex-hd-black-/ with ARM and without Android that should be less of a problem to port to because of a "normal" Linux on it.

Hehe, another ARM device which could be a target is the N900 from Nokia. Also the Mozilla developers targeted it with their Firefox 4 Mobile (as the only non-Android device). From my point of view a simple .run files would be enough ;-)
I would really like to test (and play) OilRush on the N900...
