How are we (linux users) suppose to play with other people while there is no lobby?
By using IRC maybe? It's XXI century, not 90s and this is not opensource game, it's marked as tripleA at Desura... my ass.
I'm extremly disappointed. Wasted 20 bucks.

So why are You guys advertising Linux support while You ship only half of the product for this platform? How are we (linux users) suppose to play with other people while there is no lobby? I totally agree with you on this. I noticed a lot of the users on the forums are Linux users.

Lobby requires huge server infrastructure, which exists in Steam. Unfortunately there is no such API available in Linux (Desura one isn't ready yet) so there is no global lobby. Anyway, there is a LAN multiplayer and direct connection via Internet there.
I'm sorry that you are disappointed. You can make a refund, if you think that it's right.

I don't understand your system. Be realistic, there will be never thousand players online at the same time.
Since the game itself will run on the players computers, the multiplayer server just needs a chat lobby, a database for player logins and game statistics and that's all.

The lobby stays empty forever.
Tried the two releases on windows. The unigine store direct, and the steam one.
Quite a problem for a RTS not being able to play through internet.

The problem is that I live in australia, so I'm not expecting a lot of people online at the same time. Having a global lobby (with a ping value thrown in, of course) would make it a lot easier.

(I helped a friend getting it working on an UDK3 game.)

As Desura now is open source "we" could try to incorporate here and try to integrate the lobby system into Desura and then into Oil Rush.

There is also Grapple where we could get some code from and use it somehow:
